Sean Cleary is already working on his next 100,000 – buildings, that is. Having reached the 100,000 milestone eight years ago. Cleary Building Corp., a Verona based manufacturing and construction company of pre-engineered structures, keeps demonstrating that a builder can thrive with a debt-free approach.  Under Cleary’s direction, the company founded by his father Tom in 1978 (not an ideal economic era for builders) has grown from 40 employees and one office to more than 900 employees with 82 office locations and three manufacturing plant locations in the U.S.

A 1985 graduate of UW-Madison, Cleary also works on the community, especially the business community. Sean is a Director and an Officer of Capital Bank, and sits on many committees for the bank and he is a member of the Capitol Bank West Advisory Board. In addition to his work with Capital Bank, he is an Emeritus member of the UW Business School Dean’s Advisory Board and serves on the UW Economics School Advisory Board. He is also a past Director of the UW Graaskamp Real Estate School Advisory Board. Additionally, he has served his local community as Past President of the Verona Area Chamber of Commerce and chaired the Verona Chamber Economic Development Committee for many years. He was also on the committee to formulate the business plan for Thrive, an entity to promote regional growth and quality of life, which is now MadREP.
