CLEARY BUILDING CORP. EMPLOYEES PARTICIPATE IN ‘PUT ON PURPLE’ DAY

VERONA, WI – In order to raise awareness for lupus and show support for those living with the disease, employees at Cleary Building Corp. in Verona were decked out in purple on Friday, May 20 to recognize national Put on Purple day!

Cleary Building Corp. is also a proud sponsor of the 3rd Annual Walk to End Lupus Now event, which will be held at Fireman’s Park in Middleton on Saturday, Sept. 24.  As part of the sponsorship, Cleary recently donated to the Lupus Foundation of America – Wisconsin Chapter on behalf of Cleary employee Pat Saunders, who lives in Oregon, WI.  You can find Pat’s personal fundraising page at http://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/PatriciaMaherSaunders/walk-to-end-lupus-now-madison to make a donation.

An estimated 28,000 Wisconsin residents have Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), an autoimmune disease in which the body’s immune system mistakenly attacks healthy tissue. It can affect the skin, joints, kidneys, brain, and other organs. The underlying cause of autoimmune diseases is not fully known. SLE is much more common in women than men. It may occur at any age, but appears most often in people between the ages of 10 and 50.
